In November 2018, George Stonefish and associates successfully organized the first-ever Lunaápeew Pow Wow at the Armory in Manahahtáanung.

As part of this gathering, George, with the help of Brent Stonefish, was able to invite leadership from various Lunaápeew communities in New York, New Jersey, Wisconsin, two communities in Ontario, Canada, and a representative from Bartlesville, Oklahoma to discuss the prospect of unity among all the displaced groups of Lunaápeew.

From the initial gathering George and Brent continued to work on the vision discussed and decided on by those Chiefs and Nation representatives in attendance.

However, due to Covid-19, efforts were stalled until the summer of 2022.

Since that time, George Stonefish was contacted by the Museum of New York, The Brooklyn Museum, Lefferts Historic House at Prospect Park, and Rutgers University to help with projects related to the above objectives.
